You're right, original build is definitely impressive. But I keep trying to compare the demolition to other projects of this magnitude and what blows my mind is all the unknowns that must be considered. You can engineer practically any shape and size of a building you want just got to get your forces right…

What really intrigues me is the scale of the operation to demolish this thing safely. At first I was shocked to learn they were still working on it over a year later, but now that I've put some thought into it I'm wondering how they even began this task. It is very different than any operation previously attempted.

That's my problem exactly, and the fact they make excuses about it. Refineries, blends, blah, blah. Just come out and say demand is higher and the prices reflect that. I don't hear the flower industry making excuses a week before valentines day.

Here in Minnesota we're paying $4.40 for regular which I'm told is the highest in the nation excluding HI. They feed us the same bs about refineries which conveniently shut down just before the Memorial Day holiday.
