Indeed. I wouldn’t be surprised if the thief ran an errand and forgot where he left the van.  It was pretty trashed. I’m thinking about cleaning it up for them if I can some free time.

My parents had a van stolen from the food bank they volunteer for and we posted it on PDX Stolen Cars. The recommendation is to locate the car, and call police to have them help you recover the vehicle.

Electric cars are much quieter than gas cars. Is an electric plane much quieter than a standard plane? This could be a huge selling point as the tech develops further. I would love to be in a quieter plane, and wouldn’t mind them flying over my house as much either!

Even the gas powered car was a niche product once. If no niche product was worth pursuing, we would never develop new tech.

Prepandemic, I bought a three year off lease Leaf for 11K. It is a great city car and I think everyone should go get a depreciated electric.

At what point does this stop being the fault of the pilot, and start being a maintenance issue for the canal? If boats are constantly getting stuck, they may need to dredge deeper and wider?

I’m surprised to not see any references to the Pink Yaris of Shame.

My 2015 Nissan Leaf has a max range of 80 miles. I charge it once or twice a week. There are lots of people who can use a car with this kind of range. Sure it won’t work for some people, but I’m willing to bet that way more people could live with this than you think. And yes, it isn’t our only car. We have a Subaru

As somebody who has witnessed a DUI accident, I can totally agree. Five people were sent to the hospital. One was ejected from the SUV when it rolled. I thought she was going to die. It’s been months now, and I can’t forget the sight of it.

Driving in Germany is expensive. Getting your license costs thousands and can take months of work.

My first project car was a ‘77 MG Midget. It had some running issues, and traced them back to a faulty EGR valve. The emissions equipment was never very robust and was not easily replaced. As part of the fix, I removed the EGR valve. One side was easily replaced with a bolt and some thread locker, the other side had a

Those are definitely unfinished columns. The rebar cage would be surrounded by concrete in the next pour.  Frequently when projects run out of money, they make use of what is already completed.  The building was probably supposed to be taller, but only the ground floor appears to have been completed.

A long time ago, I lived in Germany for a couple of years. Once, when family visited, we rented a nice Audi A6 station wagon. I thought that I was hot stuff running down the unrestricted highway at about 140mph with my brother! While we were passing others, we noticed another car coming up behind. We slid over after a

I’ve always heard it call crabbing.  Interesting!

If he is liable for the cleanup fees, this should be covered by liability insurance right? That’s what liability insurance is for. It doesn’t cover the damage done to his own vehicle, as he is not liable to others to pay for it.

Cool!  Now can they use spacex type technology to catch a falling projectile and let it slowly spin to a stop?  That would be stupendous.

I live in a city where I parallel park all the time. I wouldn’t use it. My parents however have poor mobility and visibility.  They would use auto parking every single time they park if they could.

I learned this the hard way the first time I washed my wife’s new Subaru and the hatch kept opening while I was trying to scrub it.  I have to unlock the car, take the key elsewhere, wash the car, go get the key, and lock it.  Super annoying.

Paint and body is the big expense not being considered here.  That can run $10k, and looks to be okay here.  I would say it’s a decent price if you include that.  If I wanted one of these, and the color were right, it would be a good purchase.

I’ve towed several MGs and Triumphs with a U-Haul trailer. The trailer weighed more than the car!
