It does, but it takes hours in a slow cooker too. After a lot of experimentation (see my other post), I really prefer SV corned beef over traditional slow-cooker method, especially since modern slow-cookers don’t cook at “low” temperatures any more (for food safety concerns).

Wait, you haven’t done sous vide corned beef yet? OMG, you HAVE to try that.

Agreed. Beyond the “QC”, it really seems to be a design issue. The biggest variance in fit isn’t from like jean to like jean, it’s when you change colors or materials.

The holy trinity of ID verification is:

Oh, this is genius. As Dad to a very-picky kiddo with a couple of trans-Atlantic flights on a discount airline coming up, this will be a lifesaver.

I agree with all your points, but I still choose to fly the cheap airlines, because sometimes it’s the difference between trip and no-trip.

Also, this is a good reason to have a code reader and to use it BEFORE you go into the shop. By themselves, codes can be a little vague, but combine it with historical information about your make/model, and suddenly the repair process gets very easy. Read your code, then google the code and make/model of your vehicle.

Another option: Like hundreds of other sous vide nuts, I use the ubiquitous Ikea Variera “scissor action” pot-lid rack in my bath to help corral the bags and keep them slightly separated for good flow (especially when I’m doing a bunch of 1/2 rib-racks, etc.) When I get the occasional “floater”, I just run a short

Agreed. Bring back manual turbo wagons, please.

The corollary to this is: Once you’ve asked and got an answer, don’t stray and try to optimize on your own. Especially if the giftee is a gearhound or tech-head who’s chosen a specific item.

A trick/challenge that I picked up from Adam Savage on his podcast:

Yep, that sounds familiar as one example.

I had this album “March” on cassette back in the day. I remember it being solid start to finish.

This theory would be canon in the expanded universe. The Timothy Zahn books go into some detail about several “backstory” incidents, both from the Clone Wars, and from other problems with ship-board AI, where ships have been lost, etc.

No, you can’t.

Yes, but doing salinity measurements this way also used to require ship-board titration against a known water sample (consumed during the process.)

Speaking as someone who works in this industry (and in case my employer is reading this, please note that I am not speaking on behalf of said employer), I CAN say that there’s one potential risk item here:

Awesome. I feel justified. I remember catching some flak on a board a few years ago when I was asking about doing the Baja thing to a type3. Grew up around plenty of baja bugs, but most in these parts seem to sacrifice the rear seat for fuel cells, etc. which doesn’t fly if you want to bring the family while you

The thing I always liked about Button was that he was a true Gentleman. You can debate “sportsmanship” vs “being a winner” (upthread) all you want, but all that ONLY applies on-track. How you behave off-track is at least as important in a media-focused sport like F1, and Button was always a gentleman there.

I hate that I have to point this out, on Jalopnik of all places, but your F250 is not a car.
