Incredible story! Thank you for sharing.
I’d refuse to retrofit the light on matter of principal.
Anyone that says BMW that is not a clown shoe is wrong - why does this guy need a back seat and the weight penalties that come with?
It’s actually a DCT, so it’s even better!
I liked that one too - plus it has a place for a plate if needed.
Got you my dude
I tried to fix it a little yesterday...
I think even a little tweak would have been good.
I get where you’re coming from - I had 2 350Zs and an M3. But the issue is, it can’t be done. Add those modern amenities and safety features, and you add weight. Which means more horsepower is needed, more emissions, on and on.
Wax will just make the ash stick to the paint. Best to use a ceramic coating, or PPF if you can.
For me this is the same issue as a Porsche 911. When they made the 911, and the original Z, they weren’t paying tribute to anything. They made them like that because of budget and engineering principals of the time.
One parked in my parking lot the other day, so I took a peak at the trunk and saw the infamous panel gaps. So, this does not shock me.
While I’m not for exploding things that cause wildfires, maybe we can just let people do what makes them happy?
Having owned 2 350Zs, and many Nissans in general, I feel compelled to bitch and moan about a few things.
Least you think I didn’t make sure (I really did like the car) - many owners at the time were having the same issue (this was on the Stinger forum).
I didn’t write it off. I just sold it. No new car should have these issues. Warped rotors. Peeling paint. A rattling hatch. A broken stereo. In less than 2000 miles. Not trusting my daughter in that car. My BMWs never had any issues like this.
I’ve owned 5 BMWs, all without issue. Yet many people have problems. It wasn’t the car as much as the service network.
They would only turn the rotors. Not acceptable on a brand new car.
