I think that a lot of people will casually make jokes that are distasteful, not because they personally hate black or gay or Jewish or whatever people, but because it doesn’t occur to them that what they are doing is contributing to systems…

You don’t need to be in the KKK to be contributing to racial problems in society. He’s a rich white kid that made a racially insensitive joke. He made the joke because clearly the people at the butt of the joke weren’t a concern for him, or for a lot of his audience (presumably mostly dumb kids).

Nobody was censored. He suffered financial repercussions because he made a joke deemed in poor taste by his business partners. He did not get a bullet in the head or locked in jail. The power of the state was not leveraged against him. THAT’S censorship. He just suffered consequences.
