I kinda felt the same way about Dead Space. However, I think I may have had expectations too high, as I played it 2 years after it's release and everyone had always said great things about it.

The first game I ever imported was Yakuza Kenzan!, I had some okay understanding (various phrases here and there) and basically no Kanji-reading abilities.

Does anyone remember if 1988 would fall into the time before or after the flashbacks in Yakuza 2?
