I just read this article in The Cut: https://www.thecut.com/2022/06/period-pain-ruined-my-life-until-i-found-the-right-doctor.html.  Apparently internal polyps are not uncommon and cause intense pain and bleeding.

Yes, Washington DC regularly gets into the upper 90s in both temperature and humidity in the summer. It’s really unpleasant. You sweat, but you don’t cool off because nothing evaporates. The air is almost too thick to breathe.  Before air conditioning, British diplomats, who were unused to the high temperatures, got

I feel like they aren't treated seriously because they're "normal". It took awhile for my husband to understand how debilitating they can be. He genuinely thought severe cramps weren't normal and I needed to see a doctor because it just HAD to be caused by something "wrong", like endometriosis. He hadn't had too many

Evacuation makes sense.  Even if they thought all the people in the room with the shooter was dead, it's best to avoid potential casualties (if possible) from a potential shoot out.

THE DOOR WASN’T EVEN PROPPED OPEN!

Excellent book.

It’s important to note that the most essential components of quality policing is a positive relationship with the community in which you serve. As such, it would not shock me if the uvalde community was viewed by law enforcement as the worst possible stereotypes of Mexican-Americans, and the police acted accordingly.

There have been a couple of eyewitness accounts(including one of the kids there)that the police did have a hand in shooting some kids. Considering the circumstances and generally inhumane the police are, I’m inclined to believe the PTSD-afflicted kid.

And people actually think there’s a chance they can be reformed or trained to be better. They can’t handle a single bit of criticism, even when it’s absolutely obvious what they should have done as it’s literally been the training they’ve given out for handling these situations for well over 10 years.

But yeah, we can

Oh yeah- well there’s so many men (and women with easy periods) who don’t understand how bad intense cramps can hurt. And the functional level of “well you’re still standing” only helps so much with chronic pain bc some people just get used to operating in pain

Some women have really really bad cramps. I don’t know why but I feel like women’s issues like cramps are always on the buner of medicine.

Video footage suggested he spend all of five minutes outside before entering through an unlocked and propped open door.”

The problem is less stupidity and more the willingness to lie and play make-believe.

Yikes. That would be both insane and par for the course.

I shouldnt be, yet I continue to be astonished at the stupidity of law enforcement: Dur, I may be wearing a camera but I’m still going to commit a felony. Maybe I’ll turn my camera off, surly no one in this crowd around here is filming me. We’ll stop cooperating with the investigation, that won’t look suspicious, nor

I now have no doubt that something seriously fucked up happened — probably that the police killed more children than the shooter. This is Texas and the police don’t have an affirmative duty to defend or protect citizens not in their custody so their inaction is not actionable nor criminal.

“Ever the advocate for legitimizing women’s pain, CNN framed it as such: “Menstrual cramps  derail Chinese teen’s French Open dream in loss to Swiatek,””

English diplomats getting hazard pay?

Those weirdos show up in force every time Vulture posts an article about the trial. They always have bizarre, infantile commenting tics, like calling Heard “Scamber” and using hashtags (the comments section of New York Magazine are not a social media platform, hashtags don’t do anything there).

Amy is describing women who, today, are more commonly known as “pick-me’s”—women who work overtime as apologists for some of the worst male behaviors, in exchange for the societal benefits of male approval. Women like this very much still exist—take a quick peak outside the courthouse where Johnny Depp and Amber
