A Republican governor tried that about 20 years ago. The level of insanity that we experienced was about on par with 1/6. No shit. The governor tried to have members of his own party arrested for refusing to vote on the state income tax. The Feds even got involved after the highway department said that they were out

In Tokyo they charge a fairly stiff per-mile tax in the city, and use a good portion of that tax to fund public infrastructure. Net result is fewer people drive as public transit improves.

If EV owners are shirking their responsibility, then gas vehicle owners are also shirking their responsibility.

That is only the “ultimate expression” if you only look at road maintenance. It is worthwhile to encourage people to buy more fuel efficient vehicles for a host of reasons and taxing gas purchases does that better. Especially when you start talking about fleets of cars or trucks

The better option is to use more toll roads.

You could say the EV owner is already contributing to society in many other ways. A reduced pollution footprint which leads to less respiratory issues and less of a need for public health funding. I’m sure other readers can add other money saving points relative to taxation.

Alternatives:

Are there any rich people in Tennessee? If so, they should be taxed a little more. Just a little.

I’d argue that Day’s on-screen persona is already a character so I’m not surprised that he did that for the umpteenth time.

Indeed. Peach is the worst voice of all, and Mario actually sounded nice. Some people on reddit were saying Peach’s voice would fit Zelda more, and I definitely agree. It does not fit Peach at all :/

Because Taylor-Joy and Day aren’t doing voices. That’s just them. So Peach is coming across as kids-movie-generic-female-badass voice #3 and Day just sounds like he’s making his own voice slightly higher pitched.

Most of all, Princess Peach throwing away the trope of being a damsel in distress for being the Mushroom Kingdom’s fearless leader wielding a freaking halberd matches the fierceness Anya-Taylor Joy brings to her roles, particularly in The Northman.

Did we ever find out why The Photo is scary?

The problem a lot of people seem to be unable to fully grasp is that an unfaithful adaptation isn’t necessarily a bad one. The Witcher Netflix series while not faithful to the source material is a great series. The same is true for the video game series.

John Carpenter’s The Thing is completely unfaithful to the source

Yeah it was good for the really long stories. It was a little less ungainly than the normal super long page they do. Which is blasphemy but there’s always one exception

This is going to be an unpopular opinion, and I never thought I would say this, but the slideshow format actually works pretty well for the stories. I like to read on my phone, take a break after a couple, but when I return after some time my tab refreshes and I lose my spot. Then I have to scroll scroll scroll, and

I am going to say something crazy that I usually never say & that is that I think this particular thing works okay as a slideshow. I don’t like having to scroll through all of them on the same page.

I don’t disagree, and could 100% do without people’s fiction 101 attempts. Could also do without the 10-paragraph setups of the topography of a house or apartment. “The first floor had three bedrooms, all accessed by a single hallway. The second bedroom was parallel with a set of 9 windows, all about 15 feet off the

yes! I too miss the stories where something actually happened. The stories about the town creepers / home invasions / people living in the walls / watchers are noticeably absent this year and very much missed.

So... many people did not understand the assignment. Nor did they follow your (good!) rules. I have read every story on the Google doc and the amount of people with self-indulgent, rambling, long stories that amount to “I felt something” is ridiculous. Those aren’t SCARY stories! Also “this isn’t scary but...” then
