I would guess, and I think you've already come to this conclusion as well, that he doesn't like having female characters that are submissive to male characters because it is a common trope that he probably feels he sees very often. And maybe he sees it in a volume that doesn't accurately represent the women he's known

Just a couple of quick points. He didn't say his female characters cannot or should not have flaws. He said he doesn't like female characters that are submissive to male characters. He, also, didn't say whether or not his male characters are more likely to be submissive or dependent characters.

Is it not an entitlement for white, straight, males to be given such vast and broad representation in games and other media while no other group enjoys such privilege?

I'm a gamer. There is no hate that I feel on me. Maybe you made that up.

One shred of proof that he did anything wrong at all?

That doesn't mean I'm now not shocked, saddened, and horrified when real world tragedies occur, but I don't want to take them even slightly less seriously as a result of the entertainment I love. I'm worried, then, that I might not have noticed a small change for the worse happening in myself despite that. If nothing

Ok.

Then what is the point of a group or movement if it can't be identified by the actions of its members under its banner?

How were you misrepresented in the "gamers are dead" article "spam"?

I would tell them, if I were debating with them in a comments section. They are supporting a hate group.

#ethicsingaming

Jesus, man. What are you talking about? #gamergate is not a cultural heritage. It's not your last name. It's not the name of your country. For fuck's sake, it's 6 weeks old and was invented by a huge asshole.

#ethicsingaming

BOOM! Done. Please, ride it all the way to Washington.

Nope. You can never use the hashtag again, though. That should not need to be explained to an adult. You defend a hate group! You say you do it for your own reasons, but the reasons don't matter because you're defending a hate group! Listen to reason, man! The hashtag is 6 weeks old! This isn't your legacy!

If your "argument" is that a group that attempts to commit violence against racial minorities is a valid organization that deserves to be listened to, you are racist.

No, you're not "told [you] are". And saying so is acting like a child. They are continuously and clearly saying that if you are not in support of this kind of abuse, and if you are in support of diversity in games, then quit using the gg banner. You don't have to be something, to support something. I'm not a woman,

Oh... I think it's a stretch to say there are huge violent groups on either side. A big stretch. There have been thousands of cases of internet harassment of women in connection with gamergate. There have been thousands of death and rape threats. You're showing me one guy who might have had a needle sent to him, one

Well, just in response to your first paragraph, I'm not on an article about a GG being harassed out of their home trying to tell them about how #notallfeminists are harassing... so...

I'm really confused about why you think her examples are terrible? I'm a legitimately reformed sexist, in large part due to Sarkeesian's impressive arguments and the breadth of her related examples. Many of those games I knew and had played. I knew they had stories and reasons and, sometimes, were out to point out the

What makes you say that? Can you be extremely specific with examples? Her not having personally played the games is obviously irrelevant to scientific research. She has a team that has played through games to find relevant examples and the sheer breadth of examples of each trope is the point itself. So I'm wondering

I gotcha now. I misunderstood. Thanks for clarifying and I rescind the possibility of having been totally lost.
