I’m going with the fanbase least likely to beat you into a coma in their bathroom or parking lot.  Unfortunately that means “cheering” for the Redsox, but sometimes needs must.

Look into some cooperative games. You win or lose as a group, so these games are highly social and you can help your child regulate his/her emotions as you’re all in it together and can demonstrate the proper emotional response for the situation. For that age group I’d look at these games to start out with:

It’s not about shitting on Destiny.  It’s about recognizing that despite millions of units sold, outside of the gaming community it hasn’t made a dent in public awareness. Madden on the other hand has wide recognition from even non-gamers.  Thus Destiny is niche in the general public while Madden is not.

The gaming industry is criminally exploitative. I feel so much for these folks. How can you possibly build a life around 70-80 hour work weeks and no OT pay? It’s extremely unhealthy on any number of fronts.

You tried to explain this to a 27 year old with an analogy about being old and approaching death?  Yeah, he’s not gonna identify with that.

Sounds like a really fun day, but you ate at a Popeye’s while you were there?! What a waste! The local food is arguably the best part of the experience.

The decision about who will be held responsible for the death of a teenager will ultimately fall on the powerful people who created an environment that allowed it to happen.
