@diannevan: Awesome phone choice! (I might have one .) I definitely recommend going to the Fascinate section of AndroidForums, it's where I spend most of my time (name's Moonfire over there). You could even make a list of apps you want to install right away on AppBrain beforehand, and then sync it up once you have

@xredgambit: Yes, it will! It'll even look at the apps already installed, so you could install one using the normal Market and it will show up in AppBrain. If you look at the first screenshot, it shows you what the list looks like.

@Melde: Yay failed images.

Just to evangelize it more, Pocket Legends beta for Android just came out.

@psirontech: If you're comfortable with rooting and such, you may want to look into Voodoo. The lagfix part of it reformats the phone into Ext4. It's still rather beta, but with it alone the phone felt like it was running 1.2GHz. And combined it's even better!

Downloaded this, and it was working pretty well. Gave me mostly

Edit: I hate you, image uploader.

@LARPkitten and everyone else: I see that now, thank you. No need to tell me again, I believe the five of you. It's good to know they added that; although the paranoid part of me still votes against auto updates because of possible bugs.

@slowurroll: Well yes, and that's why it's just one of the hoops an app must jump through for me to install it. I would still say that the best anti-malware would be (un)common sense.

My apologies Kevin, but I believe you missed a large point: Comments. Before downloading or updating, always look at the comments for an app. Not just for malware, you can also see if the latest update Force Closes like crazy or suddenly has ten times the ads.

Thank you! *skip- uh, I mean, confidently stride -s off to apply it*

@EClaus: I'm gonna assume you mean the app drawer type place rather than the homescreens, please do ask if you do mean homescreens, though.

@TheFu: Arg, I used recent twice in the same sentence.. Well, even referring to plug computers in general, is a PC still a better option? What attracted me was the small space needed, lower price* and the low power consumption. I would probably prefer a GUI, still nervous around command prompts.

Alright, I recently stumbled upon a recent LH article about turning a PogoPlug into a linux computer. I've never heard about these computers, but I'd like to set up one at home with an external HD, partially just to mess around and get server experience, and partially to host ripped media/a personal wiki (thank you,

@GenericHenchmanNo.4: @Ekstor: Thank you both for your answers, you've inspired me to try it out as a note-taking alternative. Already thinking up reasons to use it!

I'm gonna advance one step further and say pure selfishness is the root of all evil. Whether it be wanting lots of money or something else.

@sean98125: I very much like this idea.
