Being that this is Chicago, I would seriously look at the prosecutors and the judge being in collusion with the police on this. No way he should have been charged with less than murder, and no way the judge should have let him walk.

Lay on one side, but in a couple of drops give it five minutes to work - lovely bubbling sound in your ear, then rinse with a rubber bulb of warm water.
