I’ve noticed this trend from many of the contributors alright. Not good.

I think his point was pretty obvious and you’d have to be dumb on purpose to miss it. There have been plenty of articles written about how new technology is causing a lot of problems with drivers \ pilots etc being less engaged which is obviously dangerous. Air France Flight 447 is a prime example. As technology takes

Sounds like a perfect incentive to treat people with respect so yep agreed, if a survey is provided after poor service, screw them back with bad scores.

I wonder if the ones behaving like in this story are pushing surveys though. If they know they’re screwing people financially isn’t it a bit unlikely they’ll then ask them ‘what do you think of us’? I could be wrong though. Just thinking out loud that dealers who behave this way probably don’t want feedback and treat

Especially when someone is actively trying to confuse you in a pressured environment with red and yellow balloons bouncing around in front of you, loud dance music and a popcorn machine popping away to your right. Can be tricky if you’re not super focused.

I’ve a stupid question : Is Toyota still building the 2JZ engines or are these engines all custom builds from a supplier somewhere?

It’ll all go in cycles like most things I suspect. If everything moves online then some new company will open an actual store where you can go and touch things. People will be fascinated and think it’s brilliant but Jalopnik staff will be pissed that people drove their in gigantic SUV’s (Honda CRV’s).

VAG engineer those platforms with the intent of them being suitable for an Audi product etc which results in the base VW models feeling massively well engineered. Toyota does the same thing. I don’t know about GM to be honest but having driven models from each of these 3 manufacturers I’ve never felt that a Chevy

Totally agree. I can’t get the thought out of my head that the XT6 is just a more insulated\rubberized\softer version of an Acadia which in itself is a just a more insulated\rubberized\softer version of a Traverse etc. It does nothing for me.

Great argument. Totally convinced me.

Nope

You said ‘SUV’ not truck. The F150 is not an SUV.

I didn’t know Hummers were still being sold. I guess that settles it. Hummers are still the top selling SUVs in all of the USA so. Thanks for clearing that up.

Prone to exaggeration a little? You fall into the same Jalop trap everyone else does around here. Jalop says SUV and then propagates the imagery of a Ford Excursion when in reality it’s Honda CRV’s and the like which are the high demand vehicles. These aren’t 5000 lb SUV’s.

Perfect for a drive on the beach like Days of Thunder!

Seems like everyone is at it - Beto:

Awesome article. Was the engineering behind this engine possibly related to the 4.6 Northstar V8 too? Was this engine the starting point for the Northstar maybe?

Looks cool. Shame it sounds like a vacuum cleaner!

Wow, it’s funny how only recently I’ve started to really like the Jaguar F-Pace and start thinking maybe I’d like a certified used in a year or two. I guess that’ll be a Nope!

Or..... wait for it..... they just want it and don’t need to justify it. I bought an expensive outdoor jacket designed to handle mountain top cold temps. I’ve no intention of climbing mountains. I do like the jacket though and I’m keeping it whether or not people are thinking ‘he doesn’t climb mountains’.
