This just made my day. Justice!
Happened to a friend of mine too except for his nearly 8yr old Golf! I told him that it was just a bait to get him into the dealership. He was insistent that couldn’t be true so eventually after many conversations I said you know what, lets go and see what they say! Needless to say it turned out to be a bunch of crap…
I’m not sure about the EU. WSJ had this:
I’d love to know why people do this. Do they have such little feel in their feet that they can’t help it? Add in the people who see-saw at the wheel and turn a long bend into a series of little turns and it’s way beyond scary.
I would love to know how many people actually fall for it and end up in worse cars with higher payments. I can almost see it play out:
I actually saw a dealer employing doing that with a list in front of him basically saying the same thing to every single person. I was doing a test drive and sitting in the sales guys office with the door open and across the hall was the other sales guy calling people and mostly leaving voice mails. I guess they think…
Gotta know more about the Lexus story! Sounds interesting just for the sheer stupidity of trying to put you into something not even remotely close.
You’re probably on the wrong site. You should be on consumer reports or something. This site is mostly about what we ‘want’. Just FYI!
So now when a dealer reaches out and says ‘We really need your car, we’ll offer you X’ , they might be somewhat serious. Then again, maybe not!
Totally agree! I had to do a double take! We should screenshot it and show it as how things should be done going forwards.
So two thoughts:
Maybe they’re looking at Ford and thinking ‘eh no’!
Well there’s also the small issue that most Americans might not want the truck that sounds like a bag of nails choking on ball bearings. The F150 might be little more appealing just for that reason alone. Maybe even servicing costs would be less on the F150 too given the usual extra cost of servicing diesels and more…
Either way, it sounds like justification for not going to the expense of selling it in the US.
Looking at that smashed up police car. Are there SO many of these old Fury’s around that they can just smash them up casually for movies these days? Aren’t these in a ‘classic car’ status now and therefore unlikely to be given up to be smashed?
I had read about it alright but still wouldn’t surprise me to see Ford put one in an F150 or something ridiculous like that.
1.0 Ecoboost 3 cyl quintet turbo.
And all with a phone in the hand and no turn signals. Always.
