Rosberg holds of Vettel for the win. 30 years after his father Keke did it. Big shunts by Massa and Maldonado cause Safety Car and Red Flag. Perez gambled one too many times and the house always wins at Monaco.

You misunderstand (I think the author does too). They knew that the way to go as fast as they could was to draft on the car ahead, increasing straight-line speed. Thus, being the car in front of everybody is a disadvantage in this case, as is demonstrated all the time in oval racing. So they avoided being the car in

Corkscrew? I believe you have your tracks confused. Perhaps you are thinking about Laguna Seca in Monterey which is only about 150mi south of Infineon (er, Sears Point, er Sonoma).

I think Fast & Furious movies are the guilty pleasure of many of us Jalops. I saw 6 last night and I'll say it's just as impractical and illogical as any of the other movies. It was great!

You pretty much summed up my thoughts on the original article. Big whoop, you don't intentionally give a tow to the other drivers. Sure it got out of hand, but the problem is the track which makes this a valid tactic, rather than the drivers for maximizing their Q position.

How can you place blame with drivers for this? This is a rulemaking failure. A driver's / team's job is to fully understand - and exploit - the rules

And as support for the V8SC races we have SCCA World Challenge, two races each for the touring car and grand touring classes. All classes feature showroom-ready cars which have been modified into racing vehicles (unlike DTM and V8SC where a standardized chassis gets manufacturer specific bodywork to look like a car).

I couldn't agree more. Here's the problem: some people think that there's some Internet Bill of Rights that gives them the right to not have live or in-the-past events disclosed to them simply because they haven't had the time to watch it yet. This is fallacy. You don't have this right.

If it's wet, does that make it a powerslide? If I'm remembering Jalop terminology correct, a drift involves lots of tire smoke.

Johan Schwartz was my driving instructor for an M Driving School! I'm looking at his business card in my hand.. knew the name sounded familiar

I occasionally race, but do a lot of pack riding so I shave as a precaution... plus it looks weird being the only hairy legged guy. It also makes applying sunscreen a lot easier in the summer.

Assen WSBK!

The v8's are racing live from Pukekohe, New Zealand this weekend as well.
