well that sucks.

So... this technology renders the vehicle safe to drive behind Volkswagens?

to that dickhead in the video, you should be ticketed for driving that stanced piece of shit on the road. Stupidity should cost you.

“Hi, I’m Andrew Collins, and I have DirecTV.”

The speed has a LOT to do with this. It has EVERYTHING to do with this. Guess what they don’t do on the autobahn or highways in Texas? Put crowned roads crossing the intersection, hard curbs or have sections of road be privately maintained. They also put crash barriers between the cars moving at speed and hard things

I’m not even a VW owner and think this person can go fuck themselves. Seriously just because VW duped consumers doesn’t mean the consumers are suddenly the bad guys too- and for the love of *insert deity* DON’T MAKE THEM OUT TO BE BAD GUYS they’re victims.

I like the vague “pollution” since the VW certainly makes less CO2 than the Suburban.

Real or not, it’s kind of endearing that they use the same font that VW uses in their advertising.

So, potentially, they could have added the AdBlue systems to the cars at a cost somewhere under 4 Billion, in theory.

1982 called and wants it’s diesel joke back.

I don’t see it other than you picked a similar color.

As I’m sure anyone else who has worked for a German company can attest, this is the least shocking news to come out of this.

“Testing has proved the frame is great in shear, unfortunately that doesn’t really apply to a truck!”

This would be much more impressive if they fixed the cables going below the bare frame, to the MIDDLE of the bare frame, not inches away (and symmetrically fore-and-aft) from the cable suspending the frame.

Diesels or any engine that uses direct injection are considered stratified ignition. An older port injected or anytime fuel and air is mixed prior to being introduced into the cylinder would be homogeneous. The big push in the automotive world is homogenous charge compression ignition using gasoline over diesel.

I kind of already accepted, but didn’t want to admit, that was the endgame. With what Mazda’s planning for Skyactiv Gen 2, they’re already aiming for a gasoline engine with a sky-high 18:1 compression ratio (like a diesel) and homogeneous ignition (also very much like a diesel).

I’ll admit it...I’m a Ford fanboy.
