There’s such a penalty for parts failures in regards to the cost cap that reliability is essentially at the forefront of the engineering process. Having a glass cannon that could theoretically whoop the field IF it finishes the race is no longer a risk worth taking. Now you have RedBull so refined and so fast that

It isn’t like nobody was having issues. Both MBs had temperature issues that forced them to lift and coast, Hamilton had a broken seat, and Leclerc had brake issues. There was also some minor collision damage and whatever was going on with Sargeant. They all finished, but multiple cars were having issues. Verstappen

First of all, it’s EXTREMELY difficult to make one of these cars reliable. All of the teams should be congratulated on achieving reliability.

I’m not sure anyone accused Eccelstone of being ‘wrong’ about F1. It was all other areas that he was wrong about. Like the time he praised Hitler. Or said democracy got western countries no where. Or the multiple instances of racism and misogyny. Or the multiple tax avoidance schemes. And that is just stuff I

Agreed. If you want DNFs, watch NASCAR or another motorsport where big crashes are expected and are considered to be part of the game. I’d prefer no breakdowns or wrecks, and seeing purely a show of sportsmanship.

If you don’t like it, don’t watch it. The entire field is basically within one second of each other this year which is wild. The midfield battle is going to be awesome to watch. Qualifyings are going to be exciting. The strategy calls are going to be more important than ever. If all you’re watching for is people

The irony is that Yuki’s hotheadedness is exactly the reason why Red Bull seems to prefer Ricciardo. Last time they went for a driver who was all over the place emotionally, they had to replace him mid-season. I wouldn’t even consider Yuki if I’m Red Bull, guys like him crash and burn in a high-pressure environment

I completely agree - it doesn’t take too many of these instances to make RBR management completely take him out of consideration for sending him up to the big leagues. Danny knows this for sure. Although I don’t really think there was ever much likelihood of it happening - they know what he’s like already.

“Define what you mean by soul.”

Most modern cars are soulless though. It isn’t unique to EVs.

While I agree, had he not done it, the people would be coming for his head. I am certain he is sorry and at the end of the day it was a tragic accident. Dogs, and especially puppies, can unfortunately be unpredictable. I had one run full speed into my passenger door as I was driving through my neighborhood.

Because the article came from a Miami newspaper.

Build a car the size of a moon and make it accelerate like cannon fire. Of course people are going to complain about the most obvious outcome of those choices.

It’s sort of funny that we couldn’t help ourselves with the performance possibilities of EVs so we just HAD to make every one of them accelerate like a Lambo.

Boeing having had a free run with “self-certification” for decades is coming home to roost. It’s one thing after another. Who could have known self-certification would lead to cutting corners?

Thanks for clicking and providing a completely pointless observation.

Has it really been 1,827 years since Ford was President? My, how time flies
