This looks like what will be making the rounds on the car show circuit, not what will be in the showroom. Once its dumbed down, it'll be a much more middle of the road offering. The only hope is that the eco-boost engines offer as much grunt as Ford is promising.

@WheatKing: IIRC, Banks also constructed a purpose built, diesel powered road racing truck.

junkyards are usually arranged by brand, and there are ford products all around it, so I am guessing its a Ford of some sort.@Молотов:

You just can't add 2 doors to a 911 and call it a sedan. All the camo in the world couldn't be concealing a decent looking car under there. Porsche has never built a bad looking car, but I think the Panamera will end that streak for me.

I'd have to say that its a tie between my 1982 280zx and my 1991 626 GT. Both cars were cheap, never broke and carried me through many adventures.

If that grill gets any more "bold" they will have to relocate the headlights to the bumper.

"Wait till you see what happens when I touch the knob."

My worst was a trip from Wisconsin to Colorado during a November 2005 snowstorm in my newly purchased Crown Vic Police interceptor. I was on I-80 and they had closed the highway due to a snow storm. They let us back on the highway after a detour, but conditions were still solid ice. I watched car after car flying

How long till you can buy the "Kitt" edition Mustang at the dealership? Honestly, its no worse than all the other special editions.

This thing looks fantastic, but I wonder how successful its going to be in the face of increasing fuel costs. The diesel would be a great option, but offering a V8 SUV carries a certain stigma.

My advice is this.

I think it was smart of Hyundai to stay conservative and use styling cues from other manufacturers. This isn't a market where you want to stand out from a styling standpoint. The idea is to blend in so well that no one notices the Hyundai badge on the grill.

Even the Yugo had a base price of $3995 back in the mid 80's. I don't see how Ghosn can sell a car at that price when the Sentra is a miserable failure at 5 times the cost.

Maybe they are using a taller final drive ratio or something on the 1-series (BMW does need to improve their fleet fuel economy.)

Don't all good tire shops verify the speed rating on the tires?

This car is very reminiscent of the FT-HS hybrid concept car they showed earlier this year. I really like it. The geometric front end and wrap around wheel arches look great.

There seems to be some additional confusion as to whether the ranger did the 5 mile course, or the 7 mile. Banks got 217 on the 7 mile, but only like 209 on the 5 mile when the pinion sheared off during the return run. If the Ranger did 215 on the 5 mile course, then I guess they would have the record in that

If they aren't going to impound the cars, whats the point of even citing them in the first place. Do they actually believe the illegal immigrant isn't going to drive anymore?

I don't know how "cheap" this car will be. It is based on their upcoming premium Genesis sedan platform. While this won't be marketed as a luxury vehicle, it will represent the upper echelon of Hyundai's offerings. What I am hoping is that they offer a "poor man's" G37.....a performance minded coupe in the low to
