When I rip CDs I back them up to FLAC so I have a lossless copy if I want to reencode them to something else.

Reply to approve. To much well written text to pass up.

"If you're traveling, you'll probably need additional power ports from time to time and a good surge protector will do the job"

I recently, err, "got" a copy of Sony Vegas. Now I actually feel like making videos for the interwebs since it's a lot easier to deal with multi tracks, PiP, etc than Movie Maker.

For bare bones simple, core FTP has a simple free sftp server:

If it's going to be your primary computer, consider looking at something like a 12" model.

Here's a Lifehacker article of interest:

Bus drivers around here like those erlenmeyer flask shaped mugs. If they can handle their driving they must be stable!

Go in device manager and try to find the hub. Go in to properties and see if there's anything untoward.

I use an electric shaver. Six years ago I paid $30 for my Philishave.

Windows Movie maker is barebones at best. Last time I used it for a project (on an XP computer) it crashed every 3 operations (so I had to hit save after every operation). Then they started taking features out, instead of adding them.

If by that you mean west coast company, and move the other direction.

Absolutely!

Indeed. I have some old PCs that I'll spin up from time to time for fun, but leaving them on 24x7 can add up. Even if an old desktop PC uses 60W idle, that's $6.57 a month or $78.84 a year running 24x7 at $0.15 kWh.

Approve. And I'm not even a Starbucks fan.

I'm appalled at the fees on these cards.
