The main rotor moves at 725fps or close to 500mph. Depending on air speed that can put it close to the speed of sound. Hitting a 5lb object at that speed can cause serious damage to pretty much anything.

They banned these where I live because they were causing more problems and not slowing down speeders (and red light cameras). One major intersection by me would take a picture if you made a right at the red, even when it was completely clear and not illegal to do so.

Fucking Iowa. It’s bad enough that they have troopers sitting all over the interstates to try to catch people speeding through the wasteland because its tourism revenue would otherwise be next to nothing, but they put up fucking speed cameras on the interstate too?
