Judge Dredd is not an anti-hero. He's a hero that lives in a really REALLY horrible and violent world. It's really just a matter of perspective. In his world he's a hero. If he showed up in Metropolis people would shit themselves.

That's a good point. It becomes less of a story of a man-machine regaining his sense of identity, and more a story of an augmented human fighting against the power. I have yet to see it, but that's essentially what Elysium is, isn't it?

This is the exact same concern I have. I don't like that he's suddenly just awake and angry. It seemed more meaningful that he was just a cyborg programmed to perform a specific function, and suddenly his mind started to undermine it.

My only concern is that robocop knows from the get go that he had a past life. one of the things that made the original have so much heart was that robo cops past memories started to leak in and he remembered he had a wife, but knew he could never be with her.

To be fair, he's already decided to push bombing Syria at every turn. Once you've made up your mind hearing endless 'facts' is just a waste of time, amirite?
