I have a friend who works on Tampa Bay Buc's medical staff and he's lasted through multiple administrations - because the players want their doctors to stick around. Basically, the opposite of this article, which is based on one survey.

The more likely option is that the players thought 5 meant "most trusted" and 1 was "least trusted" since that's how numbers generally work.
