The car would have to be very beat up and need a new transmission again near the 75K (end of warranty) mark. I imagine the car would still be worth more than $10K, but it would be closer. Somehow got your Range Rover quickly beat. My B8 S4 is currently having it’s entire S-tronic transmission replaced, a year after I bought it from Carmax at 29K miles. I imagine that $3K I spent on the warranty is a pretty good deal for the $10K plus that bill is likely to be.

Well sure, it would be nice to have if you could choose to use it or not. The problem I have with it is it seems to be on a path where lawmakers will mandate it eventually.
