The train wasn’t always unstoppable. Back on PS3 I was able to stop it online using sticky bombs along with lots of other explosives. Rockstar must have patched it since then.

Don't forget that people who only have vanilla destiny CANNOT buy the taken king buy itself. So it's not a $40 investment for them. I didn't buy the expansions so the only way to play the taken king is to spend at least $60. Even though I already own the game.

I have stopped the train before without any mods. You simply have to use a lot of grenades, sticky bombs, rockets etc on the front of the train. It will eventually stop permanently.
