Reliability is certainly the answer, whether that be Civic or otherwise. Someone without automotive enthusiasm will have no patience for breakdowns/repairs.
Or maybe the R3 has a more upright seating position that I believed. I dunno, I bought a 30 year old bike as a starter, so what do I know! :)
The R3 looks super awesome, for sure. If you are looking for that low cc fully clad sport bike, it seems like a winner.
Interesting. I would say the KTM RC390 is more inline with the R3, as an aggressive (even with low cc) sport-bike. What I enjoy about the Duke is it’s standard seating/handlebar positioning that puts you more upright rather than leaning forward on your arms like the other 2.
Just don’t go too old or too beat up for your first bike. I made that mistake a couple years ago when I bought an ‘84 Honda that was in kinda rough shape. I had interest in both riding and repair/maintenance, guess which one I’m better at now? Basically as a beginner, I’m back to find a good bike to start this…
