I think we’re stretching the definition of “historic moment” here. We’ve had numerous superhero movies starring racial minorities, and an animated movie about a character who is not just Latino, but Puerto Rican, just like Bad Bunny.
So Hot Take: I am actually glad they did Fat Thor, it is actually a fairly well done handling of PTSD and depression and how people tend to deal with those who suffer from it, i.e. not well) CinemaWins actually does a great breakdown of it in his video on Endgame. I’m hopeful this film follows through on it.
Perfectly said.
Yeah if you’re only going to write articles about flawless creators, you should really give up the profession. Either you had a subject to write about or you didn’t, but if you had to write half your piece on disavowing who it’s about rather than just hotlink to a previous piece, you didn’t have much to say to begin…
I think it’s fair to say that this movie was great *because* of Whedon and not in spite of him. I know it’s in vogue to declare that the guy is an irredeemable monster and dismiss all of his strengths as a result, but he is an incredible talent who has produced a lot of top-tier work.
Well hello!
I mean hooray for you for being an ignorant peasant I guess.
I expect every headline that starts with “George R.R. Martin” to end with “has died” at this point. I don’t read his books, but I hope for those that do, that George has secretly written them and is waiting til his dies to release them. Then he can’t face criticism, it’s the perfect plan.
You put so many words into my mouth that your post amounts to a bad faith argument...
This took a serious left turn to talk about people of color and never found its way back to make a coherent point about why this Kickstarter campaign is a problem. A baffling piece.
I could also ask Alexa.
Original face Rourke? Hell, yes!
Umm. Irish jokes and jokes about bigotry against those of Irish descent in the US, are just that (Irish car bombs aside). The show is depicting good old-fashioned American discrimination. They are referencing the historical bigotry against Irish immigrants. It has nothing to do with the Troubles or the relationship…
Yeah, it’s Friday and I’m not clicking on a picture of a decanter.
Funnily enough, before playing Fontana on Law and Order, Dennis Farina was a real-life police officer for 18 years in Chicago including being a detective.
Incorrect. Me and the Mrs. are early 50s, and we love original recipe L&O, especially with Lenny.
No “Where There’s A Whip, There’s A Way” = no go.
This was not a concern at BLM protests. If the cops want to end this, they can.
In what I think is the first issue, Shaolin Cowboy’s enemy King Crab (literally, an escaped crab from a restaurant) goes to the Shaolin temple to ask the lead Rabbi to teach him jiujitsu.
