Excuse you.

goddammit now thats stuck in my head

Me too.

Let me just say, here, that Fay Weldon’s The Life and Loves of a She-Devil, the book the movie is based on, is totally great, and brutal, and pulls no punches whatsoever (which the movie does).

I mention this elsewhere but Fay Weldon’s book (the one the movie is based on) is an absolute treat. The BBC also did a mini series version of it that’s, IMO, a much better adaptation although a little less caricatured, which is i suppose the charm of She-Devil.

I love she-devil. i watched it recently and it’s aged really well (fashion notwithstanding) compared to most movies of the same era. i wish hollywood would revive the mini-genre of female empowerment/revenge films.

I’m owning up to it.

So, they release no information about the perpetrator or the incident itself, but every detail about the victim? I wonder why.

Helen Castor is one of the best writers working in a serious, scholarly field. I wrote her a fan email after reading Blood and Roses which was terrific. She was kind enough to reply! Even to a gape mouthed medievalist with no great claim to fame. I look forward to reading this book.

Nawww, Sarah’s baby was just one of those giant, perfectly-healthy preemies that all the hip abstinence-only christians get.

Hal is the best TV dad. Lost his corporate ‘80s career for his kids. Encourages their mischief. Tells them again and again why they should appreciate their mother. Constantly pleads with his boys to behave just enough to get by. Look no further than when his heart breaks because Dewey refuses to speak to him. His most

Head trauma?

I pretty sure she works in the office and a suit/high heels, whether right or not, is kind of expected when you meet the CEO or rich investors in a corporate environment.

“I’m taking the snowboard. You know what to do.”

Dude, I can show you PLENTY of men who won’t cheat. Just sayin’. You don’t get an A for doing the minimum. And you ALWAYS get points deducted for cheating. Lots of points. Like, there is no way to get a passing grade afterwards points.

I just read The Stranger Beside Me last year and was kind of blown away. I was a kid when Bundy was apprehended and never knew that he was so tricky and escaped prison twice. Terrifyingly smart.

Yes, she appears to be something really special. He’s a fool as well as a dick.

Don’t know whether the pictures or her words were more powerful.

“Just what kind of courage is Jenner showing?” said the angry pitchfork-wielding mob that scorned and hated a person for revealing her true identity.

I got duped. Thank you for the back story. It’s a shame things are so reactionary, but at the same time it’s a responsible way to answer real questions based on how people are informed. It’s a great photo, but the whole Caitlyn story is a non issue.
