Sexualisation is to be expected. The new game is abbreviated to “Pokemon S&M” after all.

The South China Morning Post actually has a dedicated section called “Chinese Tourists”. It’s mostly about vandalism these days:

Yeah. Shanghaiist frequently does a great job at translating Chinese social media news. If I’ve spotted something interesting on Weibo or WeChat and want to share it with non-Chinese-speaking friends, I’ll likely find a translated version there.

It pretty much is business as usual in the land of the “Little Emperors”.

It’s a miracle they apologized at all. Usually they just film the destruction while laughing:

The situation in Hong Kong right now is an absolute tinderbox.

There are current huge problems in Hong Kong with “Mainlandisation”.

Also, the first-hop latency of a typical ADSL connection is around 50ms. It’s likely 2-3 times that to Blizzard’s servers (100-150ms). It could easily be much more for players on slow connections or connecting in from overseas. It could also be higher if the servers or their peering points are under strain.

In the mid-90s, PC games were $50-60 RRP, $40 if a store was running a discount.

As a kid in Australia, I also received this terrible TMNT game as a Christmas present (in 1990, amidst “Turtle Fever”) - albeit the PC version on 5.25" floppies.

Family Guy without direct quoting/referencing would simply not exist.

Oh, come on... Family Guy is clearly in a class of its own. It has revolutionised TV comedy, by reducing it to its basic elements and then developing a method of manufacturing a reliable TV show out of them.

What is a “Team Bernie Type”?

It doesn’t look bad. But I’d be expecting a matcha flavour with that colour, and be disappointed when I find out it’s just green food colouring.

Don’t worry. I’m sure your McDonalds experience will be harmonized with that of the mainland within the next ten years.

The lines really are blurred, though. Most cosplayers would consider “steampunk” fashion as a legitimate form of cosplay.

People are just being cautious. “This article is about rape - trigger warning if you have PTSD about that” - no problem there.

Your opinion is valid, but with that background, you should at least have an understanding of what PTSD is, and how easily it could be triggered.
