Yeah, it definitely appears like the punchline is: there’s nothing funny about transphobia, albeit through the clunky delivery of AI.

That was my interpretation as well. I don’t know what it says about me but I 100% took that as a subtle jab at hack right-wing “comedians”.

That’s how I heard it. It seemed to be pretty overtly mocking the idea of making transphobic humor.

Yeah, it scans to me as “these kinds of jokes would absolutely bomb because they’re actually not funny” but seems like kind of a gray area to attribute to an AI. You’d probably prefer it just doesn’t wade into those waters at all unless it can much more confidently stick the landing.

I may be using this term incorrectly, but that seems like a “meta” joke to me; a joke about how bad those ideas are for a joke.

Maybe AI isn’t that advanced yet. I don’t even know if I understand the concept of “meta” humor.

Not sure I buy the stuck throttle excuse. I’d wager they put it in the wrong gear and when it went backwards instead of forwards they panicked and hit the gas instead of the brake.
