I fully agree it’s terrible optics and a dumb fucking thing to say. But for people to get caught up on THAT, instead of the ACTUAL issue at hand, diminishes the meaning of things. It’s the same kind of misdirection used by those that turned kneeling for the anthem into an anti-military statement instead of the actual

Does it matter? You’re not gonna line up a room of 80 year old white billionaires and have them all be in-line with the cause the players are trying to promote, that’s why things are where there at in the first place. And they’re definitely not going to hear the message if everything gets caught up in petty squabbles

If all that comes from this meeting is calling out a racist old white man for being a racist old white man, then the players have failed themselves. That’s my point.

I 100% agree with you, I think the “respect the flag” and “anti-anthem” rhetoric is bullshit and stupid mis-direction from people too afraid to actually talk about the issue.

Yeah, but if Scherzer hits the mitt or Wieters doesn’t throw the fucking ball into right field, none of this shit would’ve mattered. Bad calls happen to every team in every sport. You get over it and move on, and try not to put yourself in a vulnerable position next time.

I could give a shit about any of them, I just think the original, more-important issue is being lost on a question of inadvertent semantics.

No, I get that. It was a stupid fucking thing to say. I just don’t think he meant it maliciously. Direct quote from the article: “McNair later pulled Vincent aside and apologized, saying that he felt horrible and that his words weren’t meant to be taken literally, which Vincent appreciated.”

He spoke later with Troy Vincent and apologized for his choice of words. He meant it just as a general phrase, didn’t intend to classify the players that way at all.

Firing Dusty just screams desperation move. The Nats have tried everything else and just can’t get over the hump, so I guess they felt they had to do something.

As for Girardi, yes he’d been over .500, but until this year he hadn’t won a playoff game or finished within 6 games of the division title in 5 years.

I keep hearing that it was the gameplan coming in. Not sure why they came to that decision, but apparently it wasn’t a decision made in the moment.

His homer was the best example of “fuck it, let’s have fun” all night.

I’m an Astros fan, and that even got me choked up. Vin Scully is a national fucking treasure.

Gay marriage? What’s next, are they gonna let me marry my dog?

But there’s also more exposure for/pressure on/revenue generated by the Kentucky or Duke guy, whereas the Bumblefuck UCA player would make less anyway, because he’s not worth as much money.

I wonder if the name thing in The Forest is a built in feature of the game... I remember hearing about how Black & White 2 will go through your computer files and find your name and the name of your friends, then creepily whisper them. This doesn’t seem too far off from that...

I thought the main event was fun as hell. It didn’t make much sense, but in the end it didn’t really need to. That was very refreshing for once.

I bought 2k17 last year, it was the first wrestling game I’ve bought since “No Mercy” for N64. I got the 360 version, and quickly found out that it was just a bare-bones version of the game, without “My Career” and probably 90% of the other newer features that actually convinced me to buy the game in the first

Up until recently, I had always remembered enjoying the show “Dark Angel.” Then I saw about 5 minutes of an episode, and realized that I just enjoyed Jessica Alba.

You gotta pre-heat your pan so that you can control the cook time. It’s the same as pre-heating an oven.
