Yeah, I did a double take and wondered why that comment was so pissy. Has Harron read his twitter? Like, at all? Seen his movies? Googled him? He’s literally been at this for years.

There’s some question about this, actually. The constitution guarantees the jobs of judges during periods of “good behaviour”. Some academics say this refers to, basically, not committing crimes while on the bench. Other academics say that politicians can simply reinterpret the phrase “good behaviour” as a term limit.

Democrats need to run on court-packing and Supreme Court term limits. We should not have an unelected arm of the government serving for life, their seats vacated by either strategic retirement or death, and then squabbled over in a partisan game of political football. It’s gross, it’s stressful, and it makes literally

Ah, I see one of the biggest pieces of shit in congress has some thoughts.

They can still confirm during a lame duck session, when their seats are either secure or they’ve already lost (Collins, I hope) and they have no reason not to vote with their party. It’s naive to assume they won’t.

*sigh* Listen. I don’t want to be a Debbie Downer, but there are a few ways this is going to play out, and we all know they’re going to do their level best to fill that seat.

You’re doing good work.

Some background info:

I’m willing to bet she’s not only seen Dressed to Kill, it reaffirmed her bigoted views.

What the hell is wrong with this woman? There is transphobia, and then there is this. I’m not going to armchair diagnose her, but this feels way, way more personal than a spousal abuse issue (which is what she claimed set her off), and I wish she’d sort it out in therapy and leave everyone else out of it.

I’m actually fascinated by this, because you know she must have just taken the advance and strung a ghostwriter along for years. At this point, it’s pretty widely known that most celebrities do not write their own memoirs, novels, or self-help books. A ghostwriter does the lion’s share of the work, but only gets paid

oh no, someone who wrote a celebrity puff piece got offered a more secure job during an uncertain time. Truly, will journalistic ethics ever recover?

I agree. It seems like so many are looking for a magic bullet, and honestly, slow and steady is not only healthier, it’s more effective at keeping the weight off. So many people think, “well, I’ll lose the weight first to get it over with, then focus on being healthier” but don’t realise these things are connected.

It’s awful how people internalise this quick weight loss, as well. I lost 80 pounds and have kept it off for years. The first 40 came off fairly easy (they usually do), but the last 40 were very slow and steady. It took me a long time.

Hi, Rich. I don’t always agree with your articles on this site, but I just wanted to say that I think this is a very good one. Excellent work.

I know so many people were rooting for a Tiffany tell-all, but she clearly doesn’t want to risk being cut off from her dad’s money and support. Which is sad, because he doesn’t seem to care all that much about her.

To be fair, it was very public that there was bad blood between Mary L. Trump and Donald Trump prior to the 2016 election. An oft cited example of his cruelty in 2016 was how Donald helped terminate the health coverage for her nephew, who had epilepsy, in retaliation for Mary and her brother suing him over their

I would be really interested in articles that take a more nuanced approach to the demographics of white women voters. Because I’ve looked at the data from 2016, and by far the two biggest indicators of whether white women were willing to vote Democrat were religion and education.

Belatedly, I just wanted to say thank you SO much for this response. The issue was indeed Adblocker. So while I’m stuck with ads, at least I can actually read more comments now.

This, exactly. I was really puzzled when I got to the part about the chronically ill person being a bad friend! It’s not just that communication on social media is low stakes; it’s that if you’re friends with an abled person, constantly talking to them about your disability can be exhausting (and, perhaps, even
