It's a reference to the first game ubisoft ever produced, called Zombi.

That sounds... terrible. Especially given just how much of the gameplay here uses the screen. Having to switch back and forth constantly... ugh.

WHAT? SOMEONE WITH AN XBOX 360 USING A PS3? WHERE? THEY MUST DIE

I'm still not seeing any aliasing problems with the shadows, but note that shadow map aliasing in general can also come about through the relative distance between the shadow map pass near plane and the shadow caster(for example, fire up skyrim on a PC and set the shadow map resolution to something ridiculous like

I guess my experience was different. To me, as soon as I got the counter ability as Altair, the game difficulty just fell off a cliff. Sure, there were archers on the roofs but they rarely got involved and didn't do enough damage that I really had to worry about them. All of the AC games have been almost on the level

Further issues: It's a lot more likely for a gamer to have a smartphone than a Vita, but controlling a full-fledged first person game like this using a smartphone/tablet SUCKS.

With the Vita it could work. Using Microsoft glass would just be lame since most tablets/etc don't have the kind of physical controls you'd want.

Except that's lame. Which is why they aren't.

idk, until I noticed the buttons I saw nothing to give away this was being run on the Wii U: [kotaku.com]+alley-slaughter-assassins-creed-iiis-singleplayer-gameplay

What? I didn't see any aliasing on the shadows to suggest a low resolution shadow map and they certainly ARE dynamic, I'm not even sure what you mean by that. You wouldn't be able to tell if they're using tessellation or not, it's just look like they're using higher poly count models.

Except the current games are already doing that, which is why virtually every game for 360/PS3 now adays is 720p30 and even then a lot of them suffer framerate issues.

Of note: At least Ubisoft has said they're open to releasing Watch Dogs on the Wii U, so that *could* be why they seemed so tight lipped.

Here, internets. Take them.

Does the backstory need to be happy?

"For more advanced players, we have a scripting language"

By all rights he should have been *shot* dozens of times. I'm not clear on why these people holding rifles are running up to be right next to him.

.

True, but then memory leaks don't just slow things down occasionally. If it was a true memory leak, the problem would get worse and worse fairly consistently until the game crashed.

More than the issue of guys standing around waiting their turn to attack him, the part that bothers me is the guys with guns. "Hmmm I'm holding this large, loaded rifle... what should I do? I KNOW, LETS RUN UP RIGHT NEXT TO THE GUY SLAUGHTERING ALL MY FRIENDS WITH A TOMAHAWK SO I CAN WAIT UNTIL I CAN STAB HIM". But
