Hefeweizens and Belgian abbey ales like tripels, etc. should be your best friends. Avoid IPA's, Pale Ales, and most everything from the Pacific Northwest and West Coast, who are very big on hoppy bitter beers.

My cat is not a Bengal, but she does do this very thing when she goes outside. Maybe she's part Bengal.
And to top if all off, she actually tried to answer the question! "Some people out there in our nation don't have maps" is at least somewhat of a germane response to the question. Miss Utah just recycled boilerplate nothingness, trying to redirect the question to education and then to jobs and failing, never once even…
I completely agree. It's a BEAUTIFUL design, but it's just surface. There's still a clutter of apps on the homescreen, nothing as elegant as, for example, the app drawers in Nova Launcher or Apex that you can trigger by swiping down (or the dialer by swiping up). There's been very little update on the metaphors…
I sure did. I wanted to be a filmmaker from the day I was 14. I went to USC film school, studied sound editing, became a sound editor in Hollywood, worked on several movies and TV shows of note and renown, and then decided to move to Austin, where I now teach filmmaking to middle schoolers for an amazing nonprofit…
I always loved what he said when a woman asked him how he could continue seeing all these movies with sad endings. Didn't he get depressed? He answered "No good movie is depressing. All bad movies are depressing." Words to live by.
They do this to USC in college football too. Even when opponents are favored over a sucky USC team.
You're not missing much. To be fair, there are things of value. The third dungeon is pretty much the best Zelda dungeon ever made, I think. But after that high point (everything before that is pretty much sensational and totally draws you in) the game gets worse and worse and worse until you're sick of it. It's such a…
If it's something dumb like chores or being work-related, then absolutely I would let it go more often. In the case of this HOA and their retaliation and tyrannical behavior, I would fight that shit to the end. Issues of injustice and unfairness might be costly and difficult and stressful and leave orgs bankrupt, but…
To me the best way for women to direct the films they want (or anyone, really) is to get the F out of Hollywood. Because that place is poisonous, and I say that as a 7 year veteran of the business, who worked for a major studio for most of those years.
With boom poles the problem for me isn't the pole, it's building the shockmount that reduces extra noise. With very sensitive microphones you need the mic to "float" in a network of rubber bands that zero out random movement of hands on the pole, etc. That part is hard to DIY.
This is what I'm thinking at some point the whole thing is so damn convoluted and contradictory, you have to just go with Occam's Razor. I'm believing the "he's gay" idea more and more with every detail.
He had a famous Theiss Titillation Theory which stipulated that "the degree to which a costume is considered sexy is directly proportional to how accident-prone it appears to be." Hence all the side boob, side midriff, sticky tape "how does that stay on?" type stuff.
An alternative to leaving the stove on is to put the whole thing in the oven at 250 while you're out. It's a little safer, the heat is much more even, you don't run the risk of scorching the bottom, etc. Assuming you have a Dutch oven or whatever. Because that's where it goes - in the oven. Hence the name.
Washed out colors? Have you ever shot on super 8 film? Like Ektachrome 100D or Tri-X black and white? The exposure latitude and color saturation are INSANE. You could spend hours color correcting a DSLR shot and not get the same level of color intensity.
I wonder how much of you feeling like you were immersed in the story came from the simple fact that you were watching it a second or third time. If I was watching the same scene or movie 3 times in a row I'd probably be more "into it" the 3rd time too, even if they were all just straight up 2D. My old film prof at USC…
Super 8 cameras/projectors/editing machines. Shooting on film is a lost art. It's still possible to do, and you can get cameras on eBay and pay through the nose for film stock and transfer, but there was something magical about the kinds of wacky wonderful home movies people made on Super 8. It's not the same anymore,…
Yeah, file not found. Sad.
I agree with everything you say about 12 Monkeys (with particular appreciation for Bruce Willis's performance, which is often overlooked next to Pitt's), but I want to add that you really should watch La Jetee again. I could watch it over and over. It's more than just a "weird short film," it's a meditation on the…
