In Nebraska, when the ACA passed, the state Attorney General sued because federal law was overriding state law. But when Colorado legalized marijuana, the same Attorney General tried to sue Colorado because it’s state law was not in compliance with federal law.

Hunt and Cavanaugh are definitely not Republicans. While there are a lot of DINO’s in the Nebraska Unicam, there are some very strong progressives like them that really put in the work. We call it the “Firewall” that keeps a lot of the worst bills from getting anywhere.

Officially Nebraska’s senate is “nonpartisan” but yes, Cavanaugh and Hunt are definitely Democrats.
