Well my entire gaming MO is buying old games because I refuse to pay the 45$(PC) or 80$(console) for new games here in Denmark. So always wait sometimes a year or more to get the big releases, currently I hardly buy any games that cost more than 20-30$. Steam slaes are like my Mecca.

In the book the point was to show that Prince Doran, while appearing weak and ineffective on the outside is actually one of the key people behind the “Return the Targaryans” to power plot. So Dorne was set up to be a major ally once Dany finally makes it to Westeros.

I was never on his side, he does get shit done, but it was pretty damn clear from the beginning that the whole “Lord of Light” business was bad juju. I could totally see him take this step in the book, perhaps offscreen and we only hear about when Davos gets back.

Reynolds is fast becomming my second favorite author after Peter F. Hamilton: I guess I have been built up a tolerance for longish books, so I don’t mind when Reynolds meanders a bit.
