Here's a better video: How it goes wrong...

As a kid I read just about every expanded universe novel probably right up until the release of the Phantom Menace. Then I suddenly stopped. Can't really put my finger on why...

I heard death on the cross was usually from suffocation like thirty years ago. And also that the "hand" meant hand and wrist and part of the arm. I'm thinking this stuff isn't news to anyone who cares about it.

The nay-sayers can say what they want, but personally, I've been waiting for Gadot.

"None of the cops tell any criminal to stand down, lower their weapons, put their hands over their heads, or even bother to identify themselves as police officers. What they do is shoot everyone until they are fucking dead."

'sinking the allied French fleet, who had avoided capture by the Nazis, and killing 2800 allied sailors just because they refused to sail to Britain'

The thing that does it for me, is the humor and the buddy cop bonding. Dorian is played well and the way John is becoming less wary of the whole robot cop thing is going well.

Don't forget Adric!

Oh, Onion. You do such good things. Why did you have to turn The AV Club into an ugly, cluttered, and wildly disorganized flaming pile of shit?

Really needs clarification that the new location is about 1 mile from the *old location*, and NOT 1 mile from Stonehenge.

A bit misleading - the headline makes it sound like we're talking a mile from Stonehenge; it's really a mile from the location in Wales (still 150 miles away from the current site).

I love GitS and the Major, but still...

I'm a big fan of Stoker's novel, and this show sounds so absurd I might not watch it. But then you keep referring to Patrick from Coupling as "Patrick from Coupling" and I'm grinning with amusement.

You know you're old when you look at this pic and think, "Those are some good graphics."

Rant time. In the Marvel vs. DC cinematic battle, Marvel rules the screen and DC does good by television. Here’s what Arrow’s doing right that Agents of SHIELD is blowing, and very little of it has to do with SHIELD just starting and Arrow being in S2.

The bit I liked best was Lucy waking up in bed with Mina and gently touching her cheek. I was kind of worried actually during the chasing the dragon scene that they were going to do a real cheesy faux lesbian sex scene between them but I think the way they handled it is infinitely better. There's never been anything

The Bechdel test is an aggregator, useful to talk about persistent trends in the industry. On an individual level, it says nothing. A "feminist rating system" would by necessity be one that takes the actual content and characters of the film into account.

I have a few ancestors in my family tree who came in contact with "Bloody Ban" during the war. Needless to say, it didn't end too well for them. And in my all-countries tour of the Middle East, thanks to George W, I've had my Whitman's Sampler of man's inhumanity to man, so I'm also wary of this "everyone who is

As long as Ichabod & Abby never had a romantic entanglement I'll be fine. I don't WANT that. It's cliché. And Ichabod is all about his wife, and finding her again, and returning to her. It wouldn't be fair or realistic to have him get involved with Abby. I want their relationship to be one of deep friendship and
