I agree with this to a point, but it depends on what kind of story you're running. The most recent Lord of the Rings RPG, The One Ring, has a set of rules for journeying and random encounters because it's trying to emulate a Tolkienesque experience, especially that of The Hobbit.

I saw the headline for this and thought, "Ha! This guy obviously hasn't read John Rogers's brilliant post about action scenes over at his blog!"

I'd very much agree if the next Doctor's male, but if she's female (and I think it's past time for a female Doctor), then only a known face is going to have the authority to quieten the tantrums that will come from some quarters. While I'd like to see Michelle Dockery or Claire Foy in the part, only a Helen Mirren

I agree with you that it made for an awesome finale, but Trike's got a valid point about it shutting down potential new storylines for the future. But on the plus side, having Tommy dead opens up the possibility of bringing back Barrowlyn!

As a former eight-year male resident of London, let me just add to this. While the spread can often be mitigated by not slouching, it's not a viable option for Madden here. He's in the narrowest seat, where the plastic partition takes up the space where another armrest would normally be. Unless you're very petit,

Give him a break. He's just out of a prison stint.

There are photos of the construction of Neuschwanstein castle in the 1880s, which looks very weird since they're photos of what is ostensibly a medieval building. I posted them elsewhere in the thread.

The really weird one is the construction of Neuschwanstein: photographs of the building of a brand-new 'medieval' castle, c.1880:

Yes, yes, it does. :-(

I thought she started weakly, especially since she seemed to think dramatic acting meant speaking really LOUDLY AT THE END OF SENTENCES! But she got a lot better later on. She completely nailed the episode where she's trapped alone for decades on the quarantined planet.

The Moldovans have been pretty fantastic recently:

Beth was in love with Paul, then she found out not only that he didn't love her, but that their entire relationship was a lie based around her being a clone(!). She started taking drugs, then killed someone else who was coming after her and had to lie to her superiors, with her partner's help, to cover it up. The

I agree. There was that odd quick shot of Alison catching him looking at her while Aynsley was speaking, then he looked away guiltily. He's been far too forgiving of being tortured(!), and he does switch sides during the intervention too quickly. His phone calls a few episodes ago didn't match his explanation to

I'm not in the US, but have Hola! unblocker installed - works perfectly.

He doesn't read books at all?! OK, that's tough. I'm tempted to say you shouldn't start with sci-fi/fantasy (or DTMFA, if I'm being harsh). But within those genres, either Iain M. Banks's Player of Games or David Gemmel's Legend.

Nah. Either:

Re Oliver Queen becoming something better - I certainly hope so, although I'm probably being too hopeful. His character has been my main stumbling block in liking this series - he's essentially a serial killer, which makes this show Dexter for teenage girls. A bit more insight and a lot less murder would go a long way

I loved this as a kid, but I'm nervous about rewatching it in case it turns out to be a) not as good as I remember, and b) more racist.

Agree with all that, but Ronan was born in America then brought up in the Republic, well after 1920. Nothing about her biography makes her at all British (as opposed to NI actors like Liam Neeson, James Nesbitt, Stephen Rea, Michelle Fairley or Jamie Dornan).
