Did Mazda just build a better Jeep Grand Cherokee L?

The “STLA Platform” that makes up 4 different individual platforms that you’re referring to has to do with the electrical architecture of the vehicles. And while they may share the same battery chemistry, they will have their own battery pack designs. And while they may share some drive unit components, they will have…
I find it funny that you ding Ford to “taking the easy way out” and praise GM for making a dedicated EV platform, but then follow that up by saying that you would prefer the RAM. For all the hype of an “all-new STLA Frame” EV platform, if you look at pictures of the frame/chassis it appears to be a Grand Wagoneer…
The GM 3800 has to be up there. Didn’t matter if you were drag racing, driving the Indy 500, or going to the grocery store over a ~40 year period, it had ya covered.
I’m pretty sure this bans diesel trucks on CA roadways, regardless of where they are registered. Unlike the ICE ban in 2035 that still allows you to purchase out of state and register in CA.
Diesel big rigs will likely be replaced by hydrogen, whether used in combustion (see: Cummins) or a fuel cell (see: Nikola, Hyundai. Daimler...) it doesn’t matter. Battery electric trucks aren’t going to be good for anything other than short movements, not over the road trucking.
Ribbed for your pleasure.
Never did get the Jalopnik invite to work, but I did finish 11th in a different league (2379 points...missed top 10 by 0.25 points, d’oh.)
Could be packaging and assembly (if there’s no frunk and you stash all the power electronics underhood you can make the install modular and minimize the length of wiring harnesses).
I just read that as “FOLGERS” and assumed it was a special edition with the coffee company, which explained the paint color.
What I don’t understand, at least from what I’ve seen, Tesla basically builds the same car for everyone, hardware wise, aside from RWD/AWD/Performance. All the ADAS/FSD hardware and sensing are the same across each model They really don’t have that many configurations to test when compared to legacy automakers who…
The exhaust routes down the passenger side of the spare tire, and IIRC the manual tells you to drag from the drivers side so you don’t risk getting burned.
My biggest problem with this was not the placement of the spare. Sometimes you make compromises to get something other than an can of goo.
I think the issue comes down to what CA determines the intent of the system “Beta” release is, and how to handle it when it’s in the hands of private owners and not a fleet of test vehicles owned by a single company.
You're a few years behind. Sergio Marchionne specifically mentioned this in his manifesto, Confessions of a Capital Junkie, or whatever he called it.
I think this is just a way to get us to the future foretold in the movie In Time. Every car was something old, and based on the noise they made I think they were EV’s.
Who has been talking about cramming a v6 in there!?
The Integra was always a dressed up Civic.
They do this to make the event more “special,” and give more prestige to the Indy 500. However, it only works to hurt the full season entries and makes no difference to the on-off’s. You want drivers racing aggressively for the lead, not thinking about their season championship (not that they necessarily do this…
While this may end up being a dressed up Mach-E, since the F150 BEV uses the same cab and bed as a gas truck, the Expedition/Navigator body should also drop right on the BEV truck frame, right? They could have a Navigator BEV with very little effort and charge a fortune for them.
