Nope. Manners are all socially learned and must be adopted in order to manifest. This is a great article for young people and for folks who don’t take the time to reflect on how to be charming and considerate to others who put themselves out for you.

Humans are a deeply flawed species, yes. We pollute our environment, consume more than create, and developed fantastically powerful weapons. I know all this.

I find it somewhat amusing that we can play a game where we murder people, and no one really bats an eyelash...but have some sexy time with a young (but mature!) virtual girl? OMFG!!!! Seriously, when is society going to accept that human sexuality (even when expressed virtually) is a NORMAL thing to do? Murder? Not

Ive been through scenarios like this. Ebay can be a major ripoff, since there are customers and sellers who have figured out how to screw people over. My brother used to buy cars on ebay until he received a “completely working car” without an engine. After several disputes, AIA sided with the customer saying that the

THE ETERNAL STRUGGLE: How to respond when reading about a total shitbag on the internet.

The evil, reptilian part of my brain goes, “Kill him! Tear him apart! Rip out his ribs one by one while he screaaaaaams!”

The good, human part of my brain that my parents raised to be a decent fellow instead says, “This is horrible.

John, you say you never had to put a scene like that in your novels. Fine. I doubt you really had a narrative similar to GRRM’s. He doesn’t casually insert violence of any sort into the plot. GRRM to me at least seems to throw in the awful crap that would actually happen in medieval times. People were fucking awful.

For the first kiss my wife and I had were on a first date that was going very well. I had been getting a lot of very positive body language. Our dinner was over and we did not want the date to end and we went to a bar with a band. She snuggled up with me when the band was playing and so it seemed as if she was giving

Given 9/11, Mumbai, Beslan, Columbine, WWI, WWII, massive economic instability and inequality ,inner city gang violence, government corruption, and so forth-I for one am quite happy we humans cannot pereptuate our brand of violent inasnity throught the stars. It is bad enough we have to deal with it on Earth.

Wake up, we are living in it now!

Yeah. I’m sorry I took you for Granite.

Very interesting - and cautionary.

I'm no soothsayer, but it's hard to believe major wars aren't coming in my lifetime (soon to be 30 years old). The world's population is exploding and our resources are shrinking. It seems to my eyes to only be a matter of time before the interests of major world players come at odds in an irreconcilable way.

The US, if it is to be considered a forward thinking country, has to outlaw the death penalty, as many other countries have.
IMO, the death penalty is NOT a deterrent, it is revenge, and we should be past that by now

When I first saw these, I was really intrigued. And I was in the market for a new set of monitors too, so I actually considered one. However, I think there are some personal preference things that might make me weird:

Well, it's good to see the Gizmodo commentariat handling this with all of the dignity, wisdom and maturity you'd expect:

I'm not entirely sure why Lewinsky 'deserved' to be shamed at all. If you wanted to give an example of a completely fucking lopsided power dynamic, male US president and young female intern is about as extreme as you can get.

I, for one, support the Cruz missile.

Will continue to be ignored by idiots everywhere. Because "science doesn't have all the answers you know" or somesuch bollocks.
