I get the idea about being smart about your budget and not buying more car than you need, but I am not seeing the correlation between buying more than you need, or can afford, and how this somehow means others will not be able to afford a new car because of it. It is certainly not nearly impossible (not that ‘nearly’ is a subjective unit of measure). It may be very rare for the vast majority of people however.
