It's actually referencing the Lannister cousin that Tyrion talks about who senselessly smashes beetles with a rock— though Tyrion suspects there probably is a reason, he just can't figure out what it is. I think it's cute.
I had a minor epiphany about GoT recently. Well, at first I thought "epiphany" must be overstating it, as everyone must have figured this out about it. But I've since realized that no one seems to talk about the show in these terms, so maybe it's just me?
That is a beautiful way to merge Martin with the gods and still remain allegorical. I like.
I saw the story about Orson as an analogy for the gods and further an extension of Martin as the creator. Bugs (people) keep getting smushed and trying to find a reason behind it is impossible for someone who is not the one doing the smushing.
Man,fans are assholes. I'd write the last novel and go Paul Sheldon on the only manuscript...
Wow. That's really belittling the effort of such a great writ...

"Based on the original DC Comic."
But shaming a specific book or author for being dumb is totally different than shaming entire genres. I think Twiight is pretty stupid and I think people are stupid for liking it, but I'll extol the virtues of Hunger Games till the cows come home. You're still allowed to have good taste. :)
I will not verbally shame anybody for what they read, but I will always quietly think derisive thoughts about anyone I see reading Dan Brown.
Because for most people who don't have a clue, Autists are people who "don't function" and functioning is of course the most important thing in this drone-driven world.
The worst part of the "vaccines cause autism" shtick is the implication that dying from an easily preventable disease is preferable to living with autism, that a parent would rather their child die than have to deal with them being autistic. I can't imagine how that must make autistic people feel.
Batman and Superman sittin' in a tree,
No other speedster is as cool as the The Flash. Somehow, he got a monopoly on that power.
Ditto and ditto. Both of my children are on the spectrum- as am I, and my husband (and at least one member of my husband's extended family, for that matter). I'm so beyond tired of hearing people talk about autism as if something has "gone wrong" with any of us, through the fault of anything (vaccines, something in…
I agree, DC is based on legacy and aspiration. At least they are doing the right thing on television, if not in their shittastic movies. I rather see the JLA on tv it seems, than a Man of Steel version.
The post-credits scene to Iron Man. If you didn't squee when you saw this... you have no soul.
Why aren't there more movies about businesses heroically crushing the poor?
