I would just like to mention how stupidly it handles nicknames and treats them as inappropriate. It allowed my Lucario named Butt Pirate to pass through with its nickname unchanged, but my Metagross named Metatasty and my Salamence named Mencemeat both had their nicknames removed. What's up with that?

I completely agree. Unless there's a game too good to wait for, I can see no compelling reason to upgrade to next-gen until at least a year passes after the new consoles release.
