Late in the game yesterday we added a Gamestop coupon that basically grants you 15% off anything (consoles and tablets excluded). It's a killer deal that we don't want you to sleep on, so we're going to outline some suggestions for what to put it toward, and gently nudge you to use it before Gamestop realizes it's too

My five year old enjoys playing with them outside of the game. We do have a heck of a lot of them, though.

That's a bit judgmental. When I was young, I just had no idea about oil change schedules and stuff. Kids can be clueless. Luckily I never had any issues, mostly because I wasn't going very far. Obviously I learned the rules eventually, and now I'm careful about that sort of thing. No one knows everything!

A whole ton of things can fail in a car besides the engine. Heck, I replaced a car because the AC failed once, and for the cost of fixing it, I was better off putting that money into the upgrade I had planned to do anyway.

I enjoyed it a lot and have no regrets, but it really is pretty short. Doubly so because half of it is combat-free. If you are worried that this will bother you, just wait for a sale, or you could always watch it on YouTube. Honestly, I think you could get 75% of the experience from a well-done Let's Play.

Came here to post the same thing. :) This video doesn't actually have the spoiler part though.

Now playing

(I run Macs at home, but this video still gave me a chuckle.)

I remember the hotel generator section vividly. (What a scare!) I played Normal, not Hard, but that I found the best way to play that sequence was to memorize the route from the generator to the door, and then just book it as fast as you can. Don't stop, don't fight, just haul ass. I ended up barely taking any damage,

Hey, you make a convincing case, and I'm just conjecturing. Don't act as if I'm saying you're wrong.

Honestly, you sure seem a lot more worked up about it than the rest of us. "Salty tears?" Who's crying? Who's fanboying anything here, really.

XB1 will absolutely use the DX12 API, sure, but that really doesn't benefit anyone outside of a few developers living on the bleeding edge. It's an open question as to whether or not it will support the newest DX12 feature set because that list of features isn't public yet and the GPU hardware in the XB1/PS4 is pretty

A lot of these criticisms are either directed towards Vista pre-SP, or would apply equally to Windows 7. Not to say they're entirely invalid, but that doesn't invalidate my point either—in my experience, on my modern PC, the difference between Vista + Server Packs and Windows 7 was minute.

I think the OP is saying "the new features that DX12 adds won't be supported on the PS4/XB1 GPU hardware" which is likely to be true. The PS4 doesn't run DirectX at all but you could still say it supports a feature set that's roughly comparable to DX11.

To be fair, Vista's problems post-Service Pack were mostly driver-related, so not Microsoft's fault. I ran Vista for a while and it was actually fine on my machine, because I had pretty new hardware (Mac Pro). I did eventually switch to Windows 7 but the difference was extremely minor—it just added little things like

I dunno, I just replayed Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes (GC) and it was clearly struggling with the framerate, whereas Metal Gear Solid 2 on the PS2 had a solid 60fps with better-looking character models and similar level geometry. I supposed it's possible that the MGS2 engine (which was shared with MGS:TTS) was

Siri uses it. I'm sure that drives a lot of traffic. No idea how profitable that arrangement is.

Honestly if that nets Kotaku some money, I'm all for it. It's harmless, unobjectionable, and I'm sure the PS4 will look and play the same (or maybe even slightly better).

Don't disagree, I was just stating a fact. Nintendo is doing a terrible job selling the Wii U, almost as if they're trying to botch it.

I'd bet choice of browser comes into play. I'm on Firefox with a super beefy PC and it's very smooth. (Although the site appears to be down now, thanks Kotaku!)
