That’s an excellent point! I’ll probably be using the Chromecast app more often now that this is possible. But that only makes it even more embarrassing that Amazon hasn’t done this. They could’ve already had me as a customer on the regular but this petty squabble means I’m going to go to Netflix and Google instead.

Me thoughts on that are that Roku is neutral (one of the main reasons I love Roku). Apple and Google are both directly competing with Amazon in streaming media and elsewhere. If someone buys a Roku, they aren't necessarily pushed in any direction in terms of what to stream on it. Roku won't directly sell them content.…

The issue actually boils down to revenue sharing for in-app purchasing. This “feud” is simply that. Amazon Video is on every platform that doesn’t require revenue sharing for in-app purchasing, or that Amazon has a way to circumvent.

This is simply solved by Google blocking Amazon search results for a couple of days.
