I would have thought that one of the defining properties of a croissant is that it is crescent shaped. The ones in that video.... aren’t.

Yeah, I mean as far as conspiracy theories go, it’s not rock solid — he just really, really looks like one parent more than the other — but I see Frank in there too.
I just think Ronan looks like his mother. They could be twins.
Except most Demcorat voters don’t see this nuance. Just like when Joe Lieberman made the Affordable Care Act worse, Obama still took a lot of blame.
Imagine a conversation between Tarantino and Orson Welles, a black hole of endless verbiage would suck the whole universe down.
You just sent me down a 3+ hour wormhole of Orson Welles interviews. Time well spent.
It’s the mindset that tries to characterize the Social Security system people pay into as a welfare scam, even though it’s cool your grandparents get a check every month.
It’s like Trumpism, or Brexit. It’s utterly disillusioning to see people put to the test en masse.
This. It’s been really hard to watch people I once considered kind and socially conscious continue to engage in risky behavior because they’re...bored. All people with secure jobs and insurance and housing. I love them, but I certainly do not like them right now and I struggle to imagine hanging out with them in…
The “scolds” are suffering because irresponsible people are exacerbating the situation, which is leading to a longer epidemic and more deaths. This is literally life and death. It’s not scolding people for cutting the line, or talking in a movie theater. The risk/reward factor here does not compute. Someone’s “need”…
Especially because one of the reason I have to deny myself the pleasures that this person enjoyed is exactly because of behavior like hers. The more people blow off guidelines because they just haaaave to try the cute new restaurant with indoor dining, the more the rest of us don’t get to.
“You’re most likely mad at yourself for denying yourself the pleasures that someone else enjoyed.”
I really sympathize with the letter writer here. I think one of the things we’ll be dealing with long after this pandemic is over is the loss of respect for people over their behavior throughout this ordeal. I mean, I get that there are some people who would look at me going for walks in my neighborhood with friends…
The scolds are often simply reacting to the same vacuum of information by clinging to a type of superstition: As long as I forcefully denounce the risk-takers then I myself will be made safe.
“Doing the laundry” is not “pampering” ffs. It’s doing the basics as a partner in a marriage.
I imagine the required 14-day quarantine when moving between countries at Epcot Center has got to be a real drag.
Saw it described as the Happiest Plague on Earth.
Maybe it’s the temperature around your body? Like if it’s 100 degrees outside, it cools down to about 77 degrees in the shirt.
Imagine people who work outdoors: farmers, event staff, gardeners/landscapers, construction workers. This would be a boon for them on days where the work needs to happen regardless of the weather.
More like a cool-swappable battery pack, and I’ll see myself out, thanks.
