I think people are proud of what makes them different; that thing might be sexual orientation, it might be stamp collecting, it might be speed eating. I'm sure you are proud of some aspect of yourself that marks you as different from the average.

This can be a matter of bad road planning; I have recently started driving in Australia, where intermittently allowed streetside parking periodically blocks the left hand lane.
