Apparently that game was done on the same budget as the GBA games too...or so I had read. Which is a real accomplishment. 

I think you're missing the larger point. 

Hindsight is 20/20. Remember, the thought at the time tons of people are going to lose their jobs (which they did). The stock market did crazy well, no one predicted that either. It makes me think we’re in a weird bubble because so many factors make it look like a negative economy but the stock market keeps going.

That’s a little bit dramatic maybe. Majority of Americans wear shoes in homes and somehow everything keeps going. That majority isn’t using cleaning service. I have hard floors so maybe if I had carpet again I’d care. But carpet itself IS gross shoes, or no shoes. 85% of the ask is a power move anyways I think.

Im not so sure about that. The show coming to multi platforms (switch is still coming) has to do with MLB. Microsoft wants to scream on your face "buy gamepass and get xcloud." They're doing a pretty good job. When you consider Xcloud, it's not really going to lock anyone out. 

I actually had that same thought. Its not bad for xbox in any way shape or form, but it does feel like a learning opportunity for Sony.  The momentum for game pass is pretty incredible and you're correct. They have to respond. 

Well it's just pro consumer. The effort would be minimal sans ps3 emulation. I mean retro gaming is booming. Ps1 disc prices are getting crazy. Just doesn't make sense.  But I like that MS is trying.

Well I didn't mention PS3, though the Ps5 could handle it. But the ps1 and ps2 would be cake. I mean they sell ps 2 games packed in an emulator. 

Maybe MS can do both? Do you really think it would have been difficult to do PS1 and even ps2 emulation on the Ps4/5? I personally think they think it cannibalizes newer games which I don't think is remotely true.

There are two options. A small team could port it to unreal engine 4/5 and keep the same bones but just update textures. But just using their 4k upscaling on xbox series, it would be a massive improvement. The assets aren’t low quality. I would much rather see lost odyssey 2 personally. 

Its kind of odd you'd describe it as slow. Its not a slow rpg at all in my opinion. But maybe you don't like traditional rpgs?

That might be true, but if this game was made by a faceless, non PUA, developed by people who didn’t endorse it in real life, that wouldn’t make it better.
