Im not a "I turn movies off" kind of guy, but I turned off the weedon version when my buddy lent it to me because, "it was really pretty good." But I turned it off an hour and 20 minutes in with disbelief of how bad it looked and I just thought it was dumb. I actually liked the synder cut even though it was not

Correct, prices for GPUs and availability and been messed up for years now. The current chip shortage makes it worse obviously. Back in the day $150 would always get you a middle of the road, good GPU. That hasn’t been the case for a long, long time. The market has been very different since capital investment firms

A 2080 or a 2080 ti? If so you got an amazing deal. I mean if you're into PC gaming like that more power to too you. I like to mess with everything myself. But how many of your friends struggle with just basic computer issues. There's a place in the world for both.

They're all coming now. Days gone is next, but if expect to see God of War and TLOU1 soon ish.

There’s also a trust factor. MS left double fines deal and obsidians deal alone too. They don't want to be associated with chaos and strong arm tactics like the windows 95 days. The trust is much better for long term I believe.

You know the irony is that's what they want you to do? They want you to buy their games on PC, that's why they're putting them on there. Mining has killed PC gaming, but even if it's normal times building a modest PC wouldn't even get close to 12 tflops.

Your assessment is too conservative actually. An rtx 2080 ti which is like 10 tflops is around $1000 by itself. Mining ruined PC gaming.

Its rumors at this point but it sounds like their old catalog is coming. God of War is expected to be the next announcement but who knows. I think they won’t commit until 10 games are out from them.

I hear what you’re saying. Hope I didn’t come across the wrong way. I meant it more like MS (and mainly because Phil should be a genuine diplomat) doesn’t do their hard negotiation tactics like back in the day. I think lack of renegotiation has more to do with long term trust than money. The chaos and ill will trying

I mean the console. The poster was saying he or she went with PS4 last time, but is on the fence at the moment. They said they really wanted to play Horizon Zero Dawn 2, which is going to very likely be on PC. So if Bethesda games are more enticing, Xbox may be the way to go.

There’s zero indication of that though. Whenever MS has taken over a developer, they’ve always left existing contracts in place. That’s why the Pyschonauts 2 and The Outer Worlds still got to Playstation. In April, though it was before the purchase, Phil said that by and large they’re done putting games on other

Not that it matters to me but I’m pretty sure you’re gonna see Horizon on PC. The first port was a little rough but Sony is all about PC gaming now too. I think they’re making a pretty compelling argument to make Xbox your primary.

Yea, but MS doesn’t “need” the money. This is more about a long term strategy. If Sony bought them there’d be no question it was exclusive (though ironically they’re putting their games on PC now). In a podcast in April, I remember Phil saying that except for Minecraft and a couple of exceptions, they were done with

Agreed. It’s shit like this is why I think Kotaku’s traffic has died down. It’s not one thing, but it’s constant.

I have BigBox too, but arguing with the convenience of a console is silly. Console is ALWAYS easier. I’m lucky because my office is right next to my living room so running an HDMI is easy, but most people don’t want to deal with it and I understand this.

You must have meant a 65" OLED...

I agree. Im not an apple guy, but Google doesn’t stick with anything. Investing in their new products are risky. The first sign of adversity and they quit. I don’t know how many resources it would take to build a store and offer the offline PC version of of their products but it could immediately boost their product.

Well there’s a couple ways to look at this. Stadia just failed hard so their online only model wasn’t the answer. I mean they just spent ridiculous amounts of money for ports. So they have money (though I understand what you mean). All I’m saying is that they have a PC client like epic that you can download the PC

I still think the license should have included an option to play offline too. Kind of like how xbox does it. Play on your console at home if you want, stream on the road or if you have a weak pc.
