I saw one of these at Firefly last weekend. I didnt realize they were anything special.

High mileage cars are cheaper. Cool story
$92k for an 88 M5? jeez
Is there a build thread or an album of progress pictures for this car?
No it isn’t.
It looks like they did a nice job with the swap and the car looks clean all around but none of that is enough to get past the fact that $15k is too much for this ugly 24 yr old bird.
His article says “factory VVTi head” Was that only in the GE? Is there really any advantage in using the GTE bottom end vs building the original GE shortblock?
In fact, at first glance, the mods on this IS are not readily evident. You actually have to start opening things up to see all that stuff that’s been done to it...
I used to work around there when they were in production. It was pretty crazy seeing unpainted raptors flying around. I would drop everything I was doing and run outside every time.
I wonder how well that gold plating holds up as the two short pipes are pre intercooler.
I wonder what are the chances little Magnussen is a possibility since Mclaren has said they are looking for a seat for him for next year.
I would love to see a few articles on your swap experience including how much you were able to recoup from selling/parting the leftovers and compare it to just buying the swap.
Someone didn’t put their reading glasses on properly.
As a rider myself, I just simple expect unattentive drivers everywhere and learn to just get away from them. I either move a few lanes over or quickly get ahead of them if I can. None if this aggressive shit is worth my time or injury.
I agree to an extent but I think the lack of a rigorous driver’s education system is an example. Maybe a chicken before the egg thing but having a proper drivers education requirement might get drivers to respect driving rules and safety.
Wow, I didn’t realize this it was that big. Looks almost “normal” in length at least.
I think the most obvious (and most recent example) answer is the Delta Wing. I love cheering on out of the box designs but it hasn’t really succeeded.
I would say winning at LeMans is a solid disqualification.
Neutral: How Do You Get People To Fix Their Recalled Cars?
I had a tyco version of that. Red on one side, blue on the other. The rubber tires would pop off of the rims if you went too fast into a loop type ramp or jumped too high. The charging times were annoooooying. Tons of fun though.
