Um, YES??
Um, YES??
Not sure I've ever heard my car referred to as a "barnstormer" but I'll take it :D
You're welcome, everyone.
My supercharged MR2 will be hitting 200k this year. I bought it with 130k and have had no issues I couldn't fix myself in my driveway.
If you had fixed your distributor o-ring + bought a denso replacement you wouldn't have had that problem. Trust me, I went through the same issue. For some reason parts store alternators have the life expectancy of a housefly on the 4A in general whether it be in an MR2, FX16, AE86, or AE92
Maybe you should. I'd buy it.
I would be right there with everybody saying it was no big deal - except he was on someone else's property tearing up their field.
I am so tired of Miata being the answer for every question. There are OTHER cheap reliable fun sport scars you know
My car is a year older than I am. Any recalls would have happened when I was like 5 years old.
I concur. And I appreciate the fact that such discussion is possible without personal attacks and devolving into chaos. Sir, I applaud you. Thank you for engaging in thought-provoking discourse.
I was waiting for a Wikipedia reference.... I understand that Wiki thinks so, but I disagree. I think a sports car should be built as it's own model for the most part, with two doors, two seats or 2+2 layout, some sort of manual shift option (paddles unfortunately are unavoidable these days), and either rear- or…
See this guy gets it. I'm not insane I swear.
It's one hell of a machine. Brutally powerful, and gorgeous to look at. But all told, it's an econo-hatch with tons of power. It's a great, fast, beautiful, lustworthy thing. But not a "sports car".
The AE86 is not a sports car. It's a sporty coupe. The Supra is sort of a sports car, but it's more of a muscle-ish GT luxury performance cruiser. The MR2 is a sports car. The Miata is a sports car. The Elise, Corvette, Viper, S2000, NSX, are all sports cars.
Again, the Cobalt it a pumped up economy car. So is the Mazdaspeed3, Fiesta ST/Focus ST, etc. They are all good cars, but they are not "sports cars". They are "sporty cars". GTO is more of a muscle car/gt car, but the Solstice GXP is absolutely a sports car.
I posit that the ITR is not a sports car. It is a nice economy car taken to it's ultimate performance potential. Great car? Yes. Fast car? Yes. Lustworthy car? Absolutely. Sports car? No.
How is it possible to get only 190hp from a 5.0L? I cannot comprehend that.
If I recall, there are no G-head engines available in the US right now other than the 1LR-GUE in the LF-A or the 2UR-GSE in the IS-F, unless you count the Toyota designation for the FR-S engine (4U-GSE).
My registration says coupe I think. Either way, if people are suggesting Miata, I always put this in as the cooler and (ducks) more fun alternative.
